Ozmo is excited to announce Deryl Dorsett as the company’s new Vice President of Technology. With more than 25 years of experience leading high-performing engineering organizations, Deryl brings deep expertise in cloud-native architectures, AI and scaling platforms for growth.

“What ultimately drew me to Ozmo was the human impact,” said Deryl. “Technology is at its best when it makes complicated, frustrating moments feel simple and manageable. Ozmo is uniquely positioned to do that on a massive scale, and I’m excited to be part of that journey.”

With his leadership, Ozmo’s technology organization is poised to accelerate innovation and unlock the next stage of the company’s evolution.

Welcome Deryl Dorsett

From strong roots to bold new growth

As Deryl steps into this role, Ozmo also celebrates the retirement of Shane Boyer, who spent nine years as the company’s VP of Engineering. During his tenure, Shane helped shape Ozmo’s technology organization from the ground up, cultivating a culture of mentorship, collaboration and innovation that will carry forward for years to come.

Building on that foundation, Deryl brings the breadth of experience needed to guide Ozmo into its next chapter.

“Deryl’s experience spans bootstrapped startups like Ozmo and well-capitalized, high-growth technology companies,” shared David Catalano, Ozmo’s co-founder and CEO. “His expertise in AI and cloud-native platforms makes him ideally suited to accelerate our AI-based service offerings that improve outcomes in support as Ozmo expands beyond its telecom and North America roots.”

A quick Q&A with Deryl

Q: You’ve led technology through growth at startups, PE-backed companies and large enterprises. What’s the common thread?

Organizations succeed when their culture matches their growth trajectory. Rapid growth demands clarity of focus and an environment where people have the tools, trust and confidence to deliver their best work. Strong teams thrive on open communication, visible commitment from leadership and a shared sense of purpose.

Q: How do you approach aligning engineering, product and business strategy?

Alignment starts with agreeing on the “why” before debating the “how.” Everyone needs to be working toward the same outcomes. From there, transparency and collaboration are key. When all teams are anchored around the customer, conversations shift from competing priorities to how each group can best contribute their expertise.

Q: What are you most excited to shape as Ozmo grows?

The opportunity to evolve Ozmo from a knowledge platform into an intelligent system that not only answers questions but anticipates them. By combining Ozmo’s rich data foundation, scalable platform and AI expertise with agentic capabilities, we can deliver proactive, predictive support that transforms the customer experience.

Charting the future of technology at Ozmo

“What’s stood out most about Ozmo so far is the people,” said Deryl. “From day one, I’ve seen a team that’s highly collaborative, curious and deeply committed to our mission. The culture is supportive without being complacent, ambitious without losing its sense of empathy — the kind of environment where great work and great customer experiences naturally come together.”

When he’s not exploring new ways to advance technology, Deryl enjoys following Formula 1 and tinkering with analog synths, pursuits that reflect his blend of creativity and precision.

With Deryl’s leadership steering the way, and a strong foundation from his predecessor, Ozmo’s technology organization is entering an exciting new era. Get to know more about Deryl and his vision for the future of Ozmo on our About Us page.
